CompHealth is uniquely positioned because they do travel, permanent, and locum placements. After four years of travel I was considering a PRN or per diem arrangement while evaluating my next move. CompHealth was the only agency that could intelligently help me think through the transition. My recruiter understood all three models. Pay on travel contracts has been solid, though not always the highest I've found.

CompHealth's strength is versatility. If you're at a crossroads — not sure if you want to keep traveling, go permanent, or try locum — they can help you explore all options from one relationship. My recruiter has placed me in travel contracts for three years and always has honest conversations when I ask about permanent options. Pay is competitive. Solid four-star agency for experienced travelers who want flexibility.

I've used CompHealth when I needed flexibility — going from 13-week contracts to per diem, then back to full travel. They were the only agency I worked with that could handle all of those without sending me to a different division or recruiter. The recruiter continuity through that transition was excellent. Pay on standard travel contracts is competitive but not usually the top of market. Three to four stars depending on what you're optimizing for.

CompHealth is professional but not exceptional on pay. They do travel, perm, and locum placements well, and the infrastructure shows — they've been in the industry a long time and it shows in the compliance and onboarding process. My recruiter was knowledgeable. But three times out of four, other agencies beat CompHealth's packages on the same outpatient PT contract. Three stars — experienced and versatile, not the highest payer.

CompHealth has an interesting niche — they're the agency you call when your career situation is complicated. New contract in an unusual setting? Considering transitioning out of travel? Exploring locum options? Their recruiters understand the full scope. My experience on standard travel OT contracts has been positive — responsive recruiter, fair pay, no surprises. Not the highest-paying agency but consistently professional.

Seven years in, CompHealth sits in my third-tier agency bucket — I check them when I want something unusual or when I'm considering a career transition. For straightforward travel contracts, smaller boutique agencies consistently beat them on pay. For versatility and career transition support, CompHealth is genuinely useful. Three stars reflects that reality — good at what they do, just not the top choice for pure travel compensation.
