I compared the exact same SNF contract across four agencies before signing. ProTherapy came in $312/week higher take-home than the next closest. When I asked my recruiter to break it down, he showed me the actual bill rate and walked through exactly where the difference came from. Nobody else does that. Every other agency told me my package was "competitive" without backing it up. His number was legitimate. Beyond pay, the recruiter picks up the phone. I had a question about my housing stipend at 9:30pm on a Tuesday, texted him, he responded in 15 minutes with the exact GSA rate for my county. That's it. That's the whole review.

My recruiter has never tried to push me toward a setting I wasn't comfortable with, even when it would have been easier to fill a position faster. The pay transparency thing stands out. He sent me a written breakdown of exactly where every dollar in my package comes from. I've kept it as a reference and use it when talking to other agencies to pressure them to be equally transparent.

Six years of travel and ProTherapy is the only agency I've stuck with for more than 2 consecutive contracts. That says everything. They treat experienced travelers like the skilled professionals we are — no condescending explanations of what a travel contract is, no bait-and-switch on pay, no "let me check with my manager" on every question. My recruiter knows my preferences, remembers what I've told him, and proactively reaches out when something matching my criteria opens up. I got a text: "Home health contract in Portland just posted, 13 weeks, $2,350/wk housing + $620 M&I, your call." That's the relationship I want.

Best outpatient ortho contracts I've had. Pay is strong, but what really stands out for outpatient is that the caseload expectations are actually reasonable. My recruiter helped me ask the right questions before accepting — patient visits per day expectations, cancellation policies, whether they count no-shows against productivity. Things I didn't know to ask in year one. The ProTherapy team cares about whether a placement is actually a good clinical fit, not just whether the spot gets filled.

First contract as a COTA traveler. ProTherapy was the only agency that didn't make me feel like a consolation prize for not being an OT. My recruiter explained the pay structure clearly, helped me find housing in an expensive Florida market, and called me two weeks into my contract just to check in — not to ask me to extend or refer a friend, just to see how it was going. The pay is real. I compared my offer with two other agencies for the same facility and ProTherapy was $275/week higher. That math adds up fast.

Eight years traveling. I've used probably a dozen agencies over that time. ProTherapy isn't perfect — they can't always match the job volume of the big players — but for outright pay and genuine recruiter relationship, they're the best I've found. Four stars, not five, and I want to be honest about why: ProTherapy didn't have pediatric OT contracts when I was looking for one. I had to go to a different agency for that placement. In SNF and general outpatient OT, they're excellent — highest pay, great communication, recruiter who actually knows OT scope. But if you need niche settings or a very specific region, their smaller network can be a limitation. I'll go back to them for my next SNF contract. The experience overall has been really positive.

Really good agency. Pay is the best I've seen — that part is absolutely true. My recruiter is responsive and knowledgeable. The reason for four stars instead of five is purely about breadth: they don't have as many contracts in the Pacific Northwest, which is where I prefer to be. I've had to wait longer between contracts than I would with a bigger agency. If you're flexible on location or looking in high-demand areas, you probably won't have this problem. And when they do have something, the package is great.
